Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer Duane Eddy joins us for part 1 of our interview recorded on location at the Musician's Hall Of Fame & Museum in Nashville, TN.  We talk about early guitar influences, his duo of Jimmy & Duane, his "twang" sound, successful debut album, Elvis, listing musicians on his album jacket, Dick Clark, Everly Brothers, Art Of Noise and a deal with Capitol Records.

Everly Brothers have first #1 with "Wake Up Little Susie" in 1957

The Everly Brothers have their first #1 song in the US with "Wake Up Little Susie" (it went to #2 in the UK).  Here's the Everly's performing it live as well as a cover by Simon & Garfunkel (who regard the Everly's as their greatest influence)...

A couple of years before their smash hit recordings of "Bye Bye Love", "Wake Up Little Susie" and many more on Cadence Records, The Everlys recorded a single for Columbia in 1955 that failed to get a lot of attention.  Here are the 2 sides to this single....

Nashville, TN's RCA Studio B has an impressive list of hits recorded here. Elvis himself recorded over 150 songs in that studio including "Fever", "It's Now Or Never", "Little Sister", "How Great Thou Art", "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Big Hunk Of Love", "Stuck On You", "His Latest Flame", "Guitar Man", "Big Boss Man", "Hi-Heel Sneakers" and so many others including also Gospel, Christmas and Soundtrack albums. The Everly Brothers released "Gone Gone Gone" to radio in 1964 and the album containing this single in early 1965.  Robert Plant and Alison Krauss' cover was the debut single from their duo project Raising Sand released in 2007.
