The Society Of Singers honored The Beach Boys' Mike Love at the 21st Ella Awards

The Society Of Singers honored The Beach Boys original member Mike Love at the 21st Ella Awards on February 20th, 2014.  John Stamos performed and served as the emcee during the gala which benefits the Society Of Singers.  Emmy ® Award-winning producer, Nigel Lythgoe (So You Think You Can Dance) was honored with the Leadership Award and legendary backup singers, The Waters Family received The Voice Of The Industry Award at the event.

Love is recognized as one of the distinctive vocalists in rock & roll history with over 50 years history leading Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame members, The Beach Boys.  He co-wrote many of the band''s signature tunes and his lead vocals can be heard on songs like "Fun, Fun, Fun", "Good Vibrations", "California Girls", "Do It Again", "Little Deuce Coupe", "Kokomo", "Surfin' USA" and many more.  The Beach Boys, alongside The Beatles and Michael Jackson, are the only artists to have produced 12 Top 10 hits in a 5 year span.

The event featured many one-of-a-kind performances with a wide range of performers including Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers), Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Dean Torrence (Jan & Dean), California Saga (children of Beach Boys members), David Lee Roth (Van Halen) and many more.  Here is the full list of performances:

Here he comes...walking down the street...Micky Dolenz on Buddy Holly tribute
