Paul McCartney taped MTV's Unplugged this day in 1991


Paul McCartney taped an episode of MTV's hugely popular "Unplugged" show.  While other artists plugged in their acoustic instruments into amplifiers, Paul and his band were 100% unplugged with mics strategically placed near guitars, piano, etc. to pick up the sound.  A recording of most of the songs appeared on an album in the summer of '91.  "Midnight Special", "Mean Woman Blues" and "Matchbox" were among the songs that did not make the final album.  Some of the songs that did make the album include "Be-Bop-A-Lula", "Here, There and Everywhere", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "We Can Work It Out", "Blackbird", "Hi-Heel Sneakers", "Good Rockin' Tonight", "I've Just Seen A Face", "And I Love Her" and 8 more.  Here's some select songs from the evening:
