Legendary songwriter Jerry Leiber died today

Jerry Leiber (pictured on the right along with Mike Stoller on the left and Elvis in the middle) passed away this morning in Los Angeles at the age of 78.  He and Mike Stoller were one of the biggest hit-making songwriting teams in popular music.  Some of their biggest hits include "Hound Dog", "Yakety Yak", "Jailhouse Rock", "Stand By Me", "On Broadway", "Charlie Brown", "Fools Fall In Love", "Kansas City", "Love Potion #9", "Ruby Baby", "Santa Claus Is Back In Town" and countless others.  Here's a great documentary on this songwriting duo.
