Charles Hardin Holley (Buddy Holly) was born this day in 1936 in Lubbock, TX. Even though his tragic death in 1959 cut short a brilliant career, his music continues to live on and inspire new generations. Just last year, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. There were also 2 tribute CD's in his honor in 2011 (Listen To Me: Buddy Holly and Rave On Buddy Holly).
