Booker T. Jones was born this day in 1944 in Memphis, TN. He's best known for leading Booker T. & The MG's and their monster instrumental hit "Green Onions". They also served as the back-up band on the bulk of the Stax Records recordings. He continues to release projects (including The Road From Memphis released last year) and tour.
