John Lee Hooker was born this day in 1917
John Lee Hooker was born this day in 1917. By the time he passed away in 2001 he had recorded over 100 albums. Early in his career he would often change his recording name to be able to release singles for other labels...among them were Johnny Lee, Texas Slim, Delta John, Birmingham Sam, The Boogie Man and even John Lee "Booker". One of his biggest hits was "Boom Boom" which was also featured in a live performance for the movie The Blues Brothers. See it here....
